The foundation stone for the Sevadaan Welfare Centre was laid on 27th June, 1981, by Fr. Frank Toner, C.Ss.R. and Fr. Ladislaus Mendonca, C.Ss.R., in Chembur. It was a plot of land donated by Dr. Eustace Sequeira from Byculla. The Sevadaan Welfare Centre was inaugurated by Mother Teresa on 31st May, 1984. From then onwards, the Sevadaan Welfare Centre is a constant hub and extremely vibrant as a multi-purpose Centre. It continues to be a blessed spot and a very lively place.
