A year of Novitiate is an important phase in the life of any Religious. For us, Redemptorists, Mt St Joseph, Kotagiri is the place where we have been having our Novitiate for many years now.
Kotagiri is known for its cool weather, beautiful forest with its greenery, and quiet and calm atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The seminarians from the Vice Province of Majella, after completing their graduation and postulancy enter the Novitiate, along with the Novices of Bangalore and Liguori Provinces. Novitiate is an intense time for prayer and reflection. Here the seminarians deepen their awareness of self, others and God. At the end of their novitiate, they make their first profession.
